Guides for the Visually Impaired Needed!

The Earle Baum Center will be hosting its annual Open House on Saturday, September 21, 2019 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. We need nine volunteers to be human guides during this event. Human guide technique is a way that sighted people can help visually impaired individuals manuever safely and confidently on foot by choreographing walking and hand/elbw holding techniques. This year, our Open House is also a 20th Year Anneversity. We are the only center that helps people, experiencing permanent sight loss, regain independence, sense of self and employment, in Sonoma, Napa, Lake and Mendocino counties. Your envolvement in our efforts are greatly appreciated and helps our community at large!

We need:

3 volunteers from: 8:30 - 11:00 - including instructions, practice and follow-up

3 volunteers from: 10:30 - 1:00 - including instructions, practive and follow-up

3 volunteers from: 12:30 - 3:00 - including instructions, practice and follow-up

 

Human Guide tutorial either on:

September 17th from 10:00- 12:00

or September 19th from 1:00 - 3:00
