Forest to Sea Nature Store
Located on Main Street in the heart of Guerneville, Stewards opened its newest venture in May 2017. The newly renovated Plaza Building is the perfect location for our Forest to the Sea Nature Store, where we sell environmental education-related merchandise to locals and visitors alike. All proceeds from these purchases go back to our organization to help support our programs and projects in the 3 west county CA State Parks; Sonoma Coast SP, Armstrong Redwoods SNR and Austin Creek SRA.
Tasks: This is a great opportunity to share your love of the Stewards and the parks, and meet new people. Volunteers provide customers with park and program information and sell interpretive merchandise and memberships. Volunteers will open and close the store, and handle money.
Meeting times: The store is open 7 days a week. Shifts can be 10 AM to 1:30 PM, 1:30 PM to 5 PM or 12 PM to 5 PM daily. Volunteers needed weekends, holidays and shoulder days (Monday, Thursday and Friday).
Training and requirements: Some previous retail/customer service experience preferred, but not required. New volunteers will arrange a one-on-one training with a Stewards staff person. Staff support will be available until new volunteers feel comfortable preforming the job duties on their own. New volunteers are required to attend one General Orientation. All new volunteers are required to complete and turn in a hard copy of the CA State Parks DPR 208 paperwork. Contact kat@stewardscr.org.
